Pre-contract - In recognition of many successful projects in association with this client, TPT Fire Projects were invited to carry out a feasibility study and cost analysis to ascertain the viability of installing an automatic sprinkler system to this project. This involved considerable planning and liaison with the client and on site personnel for what was envisaged to be a very difficult retrofit project.

Pre-contract

In recognition of many successful projects in association with this client tpt were invited to carry out a feasibility study and cost analysis to ascertain the viability of installing an automatic sprinkler system to this project. This involved considerable planning and liaison with the client and on site personnel for what was envisaged to be a very difficult retrofit project. The brief was that this should be carried out with minimal disruption to the day to day operation with the facility remaining open to the public. Following lengthy discussions over a twelve month period it was agreed by all that our proposals would achieve the needs and tpt were subsequently awarded the contract.

Design

During the consultation period and a risk assessment it was determined that The Automatic sprinkler system be designed in accordance with BS EN 12845 life safety enhancements. The design of the system included zoning of the system to facilitate and ensure prompt evacuation of the premises in an emergency with remote alarm signalling and monitoring linked to the landlords shopping development system and central station monitoring. Extensive coordination with existing services was required to facilitate the concealing of the installation pipe work within the ceiling voids to achieve the desired aesthetics.

Installation

Being conscious of the clients brief that we should not disrupt the day to day operations or unnecessarily inconvenience members of the public we attended daily progress meetings with the project team to ensure this was adhered to where we would agree necessary out of trading hours working to achieve the goals. Our on-site personnel were carefully selected to ensure a smooth operation throughout the project.

Thie objective was achieved ahead of programme by selecting an appropriately experienced on site team and management familiar with working under pressure and to tight schedules in this particular environment.

This installation is typical of the various retrofit systems carried out by tpt companies where we offer a turnkey management project.

To compliment this service tpt fire maintenance are on hand to carryout regular maintenance of the systems including weekly testing of the system with our dedicated engineers to release clients own engineers to carry out their normal routine operations which is normally found to be cost effective. We can also attend to your emergencies and day to day adaption's that are often required to suit clients operational changes.
